For more than three decades, Cathrine has built a life centered around creativity, relationships, and storytelling. As a photographer, she earned the trust of families, athletes, entertainers, and public figures by capturing authentic moments with honesty and heart. Today, that same artistic vision and commitment to meaningful connection continues through Axis, where legacy, tradition, and personal storytelling remain at the center of everything she creates.
THE LAUNCH OF AXIS HATS
Cathrine officially launched Axis Hats New York in the spring of 2023, encouraged by her family, friends, and the many people she had gifted her artwork to. The initial inspiration came in 2018, when her son began his college journey.
Her gift lies in her ability to see the world uniquely and create visual value from those perspectives — a curiosity and creative drive that continue to shape her evolving artistic identity.
At its core, Axis is committed to building a community of giving back, and to making a meaningful impact as the brand grows and evolves.
A PHOTOGRAPHERS LIFE
Cathrine’s decades-long career in photography and visual storytelling has included working with some of the most recognized names in sports and entertainment.
Throughout her career, she has built longstanding relationships within these worlds, including professional sports team owners, celebrated athletes, and NFL Hall of Famers. These relationships became part of the early community surrounding Axis, and their response to the artwork helped reinforce something Cathrine had recognized from the beginning, how deeply it resonates with people whose ties to their university run far beyond graduation, shaped by a place, an experience, and a community that helped make them who they are.
